The true “soulmate” (sometimes termed the twin soul or twin flame) is a manifest reflection of the “soul mating itSelf” 🙂 Self meeting/mating Self. When Self realization is imminent, it is possible for a reflection of this realization to show up in the mirror of the manifest. Often, this reflection will arrive “just in time” to turn One unto OneSelf, so as to see with utter, unmitigated, uncompromising, ruthless directness: Not this, Not that (Neti Neti)… until all egoic identity is stripped away in nakedness, and there is realization and liberation.

Because it is a reflection in Self, it is exalting. It is Peace, It is Bliss; It is Creativity. Because it is simultaneously the magnification of every egoic identity, it is activating, explosive and destructive; it is the end of all time. It is Krishna; it is Kali!  (more…)

The chakra (energy center) at our throats is called Vishuddhi. The word shuddh means pure, and so vishuddhi has something to do with purification — the alchemy of the conditioned to re/turn it into the essential.

The allegory of Shiva holding the blue poison in his throat as that is what first arose at the Gods’ attempt at samudra manthan — churning the ocean to extract amrita (nectar) — is symbolic of the realization that before we can access the nectar, before we can speak Truth, we must purify (alchemize) the “poison” (illusion) of story and experience. (The term “before” must not be read as conditionality; it can well imply “simultaneous” when in total awareness.) We must practice holding this poison in active stillness, as Shiva — as the void, as the emptiness, as Silence. Not as repression, but in active observation within the expansive, all-embracing emptiness of Self. (If one is shooting off arising and passing thoughts and intellectualized philosophy as “truth” or “honesty,” one can be sure this is the unexamined, unprocessed poison of mental/emotional conditioning spouting forth.)

Sound is everything. It is the beginning of Creation, the movement of the unmanifest as the manifest. So whether we say, Om, or “before God there was the Word,” or Big Bang, or simply that a baby is “here” if it cries upon birth, we’re pointing to the same essential awareness. And there’s also the saying, “finding one’s voice in the world,” as a stand-in for Self actualization.

Being judgment-free isn’t about no judgment arising, but about being dis-identified with the judgment that is arising. It’s being aligned in Self, that is wholly aware and embracing of the judgment that’s arising. In so recognizing Self as the field of awareness within which judgment is free to arise and pass, we are free of the judgment that’s arising = judgment free!

An identity needs a community to belong. While uniqueness belongs anywhere… and everywhere! Just because it’s here!

Say, I encounter a person experiencing the circumstance of poverty, and an inspired action of assistance flows through (‘me’).

When I believe I am helping them because of their poverty, my action is conditional to their circumstance. I can then have accompanying “logic” (measurement/ evaluation/ labeling…) that says, I helped them because they are so poor, and my action makes a difference by changing something in their circumstance, and so I can feel good. (I may even have logic/ measurement that outlines how I could do better by helping a poorer person than the one I just encountered, or better still, develop theories and strategies en masse to eradicate poverty altogether.) Now there’s the birth of a ‘me,’ the doer, (and a ‘them,’ the done unto), and time is born too… it’s no longer purely inspiration (spirit) that flows as movement in the moment. Now there is motivation (motive). This is Karma. Ac/counting. Debit and Credit.  (more…)

The metaphor of crucifixion and resurrection points to the death (recognizing, embracing and integrating) of the ego so the eternal Self can be risen/awakened. It’s the death of death itself, for only the belief in death keeps death (the ego) alive.

Each time we think or speak of our Love “for” (or “of”) someone, we could experiment with omitting the “because.” Instead of I love XXX, followed by a long and admiring list of, They are so…, we could simply try on, I love XXX. Period. We could experiment with omitting their qualities, whether perceived as “superficial” (beautiful, talented, smart, accomplished…) or “deep” (wise, kind, caring, evolved, soulful…) We could experiment with omitting their personality, their beliefs and values, their accomplishments and achievements, their circumstances, their life story… And we could get in touch with the choice-less-ness, the condition-less-ness, the “I-can’t-help-it-ness” of our Love (for them). Then we’ll know Love for the first time. Without armor or defense, condition or qualification. We’ll know Love as our very nature, independent of “the other.” We’ll know ourselves as the source of Love, and Love as the source of us. By dropping the qualities of the other, the “you” falls away from “I love you.” By recognizing the choice-less-ness, condition-less-ness, and I-can’t-help-it-ness, the “I” falls away too. And what remains, is only Love. We become naked and liberated in Love, freed of the burden of reason and justification. We see that “because” is the attachment, the bondage, keeping us believing that without the other and their acting this way or that way, we wouldn’t be (in) Love. We see that Love just is, no matter what.
