Pure Grief represses nothing and pure Gratitude appreciates everything. Between the two, all ‘healing’ is complete Here and Now.

*****
“pure” = free of thought, identification or condition; free of debit (blame) or credit (attribution); grief/gratitude “for” nothing.

If at every turn you act on the calling of the moment — indicated by your inspiration / enthusiasm / caring in that moment — with zero insistence, assumption or expectation on outcome, zero impression on your essential state of being no matter what happens (including what happens as reactions in the apparent personality / body “you”), and zero identification with any action as its ‘doer’… that is the entire script for spontaneous being-doing, for allowing Life to live resistance-free, as you!

When I use the word ‘spontaneous’ (in the context of spontaneous action), I mean non-premeditated, yes. I also mean non-motivated, meaning, with no motive (or control) of an end-result or outcome.

Say you see someone hurt in the middle of the street and you are called to spontaneously run over and assist them to the side. Look closely and clearly, and it can be seen that the action does not have a thoughtful aim in that moment; the action is simply a natural response. Once done, the thought arises that it was to ‘help’ them. Whether your action was ultimately helpful or unhelpful is a perspective-based judgment (call),* and in any case, a side-effect. The spontaneous action itself is actually free of such perspective!  (more…)

“You always get what you want.”

In this statement, used not only by true realizers but also (erroneously, distorted by the egoic lens) by the “Law of Attraction” proponents, looking at the word “want” offers a great pointer.

When we wish to convey that a situation is missing or lacking something, we say, it’s wanting. Wanting is an energy of lack, the felt-sense associated with something missing or lacking from the (inherent) completeness/wholeness of any experience. For, of course, one wouldn’t want what one perceives one already has!

So, “you always get what you want,” really implies that the perception of lacking something is self-fulfilling — it continues to manifest (reflect as) experiences such that, the perception of lack (wanting) can be maintained! (more…)

Not needing others to like (or understand or support) you is not only a recognition of your innate freedom, but also a recognition of their innate freedom, and thereby, a way of loving them!

Whenever I speak of no-mind, I’m not speaking of the absence of mind, but the absence of identification with it. The absence of conceiving of it as a separate entity — a me. Mind is not an entity; it is the movement, the activity arising (and passing) in/as consciousness. So, no-mind points to no clinging to it as a finite, limited (and limiting) identity or entity, so it is allowed to dissolve into/as Source just as easily as it arises within/as Source! This easy arising and dissolving lends fluidity and transparency, that we commonly attempt to convey when we refer to “an open mind.” (more…)

A No said from the Nothingness of Self, in alignment with universal well-being, is at once also a Yes. A no said from fear, habit patterning, conditioning, control, doubt, compulsion, reactivity, resistance, self-protection, convenience, or plain old laziness to stretch or expand into possibility, is neither no nor yes. It’s just no man’s land, the equivalent of remaining stuck in purgatory.

P.S. As an aside, you’ll notice that few will argue with or object to the first kind of No, as they intuitively and immediately recognize that it’s arising from that “centerless center” also capable of a wholehearted and unconditional Yes. (Even the littlest children recognize it!)

A true open mind isn’t one that is able to hold or becomes occupied with thought-full-y considering and processing all manner of views and perspectives, but one that is held so lightly that it is transparent… its openness is in its lightness and transparency… allowing the Heart of Being to be instantly reached/accessed beyond the limitation of views and perspectives.

*****
It is the Heart of Being that sees the Universal in the unique (singular), whereas the identified mind is trapped in a never-ending attempt to think into place a conceptual universality via weaving together perspectives.

Acting self-effacing (‘humility’) and acting in self-promotion (‘hubris’) are essentially two sides of the same coin of egoic identification — believing there’s a separate self at all. In genuine humility, you don’t think less (or more) of yourself, you simply don’t think of your self! If there’s a gift of/from the One-Self emerging through what appears as “you,” it is simply shared; you don’t think of it as “yours” to give or not give (to “others”). It is given, period. To you and to all, all at once. This is the humility (and power!) of receptivity and acceptance. At its subtlest it requires neither bravery nor confidence of mind, as there’s no “me” at play in the first place, to overcome.

The difference between charity/ philanthropy and giving-receiving is that in the latter, no one can identify (with) who is giving and who is receiving.
